Playpen School – Playpen Center

message from the principal

Playpen has reached yet another milestone – 4 decades and a half in imparting education to young learners from the age of 3 to 18 years old.

On behalf of the School Managing Committee, Faculty, Admin and Staff, I
welcome you all to our School Website. We at Playpen are all very proud and
overwhelmed to see the growth and development of our school over the last 44
years.

The role of a School is not only to pursue academic excellence, but also to
motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers and
productive members of an ever-changing global society. That is exactly what we
are preparing our students for.

We constantly endeavour to always live up to this ideology and inculcate this into
everything we do.

I believe that every student is unique and have their own special ability or hidden
talent to learn. They need help to set goals, within their reach until they gain
confidence and determination. At Playpen we nurture our students to become
lifelong learners, as well as helping them to be self-directed, realistic and
responsible decision makers.

Hence, in Playpen, the students are given the opportunities to thrive for their total
development. We encourage them to participate in co-curricular and extra –
curricular activities to build their confidence, independence and personality all
necessary to become well-rounded adults.

Our excellent teaching staff with a wealth of experience, work in different
capacities to provide Playpen students with their earnest guidance and
knowledge. It is our goal to create an environment enriched with learning
opportunities.

When we : students-teachers-parents-administrators talk during meetings and
listen to one another, we gain a deeper understanding of what we want for and
from our school. Playpen continually improves the quality of tools of
communication, including giving our parents access to the Website where they
can get go to a portal and retrieve pertinent information about their children’s
academic performances, test and exam results, discipline and information about
attendance, academic, co-curricular and extracurricular events and achievements.
The ethos that permeates all teaching and learning activities in Playpen school is
that : children should learn happily with confidence, without any fear, complexity,
anxiety or stress. That is why we have very wide, open and spacious collaborative
areas where they can mingle, interact, converse or just have fun during their
recess and free periods. We want to ensure that our children are cozy and
comfortable with the right kind of amenities made available to them during class or
after class.

We are very proud of our Multipurpose Hall which accommodates 1300 people
during functions, seminars, meetings, training – while transforming it in to an
interior games arena, where students can play basketball, volleyball, badminton,
table tennis, handball or even a 5 a-side football game.

The British Council has given Playpen the approval of a CAIE Examination
Centre. Our Multipurpose Hall has successfully hosted the first series of CAIE
Exams of October – November of 2020. The students of Playpen have been
relieved of the anxiety and trouble of reaching different locations around Dhaka
city for their Exam Venues during their O and A Level Exams. They are now able
to appear for their exams in very premises of their own school campus.

I would like to see the role of Parents playing a part here as well, for it is a well
known fact that discipline begins at home. So we are looking at ways of strengthening Home-School Agreements. The Parents’ key responsibility should
be to make sure that their child goes to school every day and gets involved in
academics, co-curricular and extra – curricular activities regularly. Parents are the
most important strengthening power is moulding the future of children and your
consistent support empowers us to go beyond. I pay my gratitude to them for their
faith in us.

I wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.

Mrs. Sorabon Tohura
